Sultan Indian And Bangladeshi Cuisine
Tucked away in the heart of Andover, at 3B Union Street, Sultan Indian And Bangladeshi Cuisine brings the bold, fragrant flavors of the Indian subcontinent right to your plate. Whether you're chasing that creamy Chicken Tikka Masala high or simply craving fluffy, buttery Garlic Naan that melts in your mouth, this spot doesn’t disappoint.
Walking in, the first thing you’ll notice is the warm, ambient vibe. It’s relaxed, unfussy, and designed for anyone - from solo diners to couples on a late-night curry run. With wheelchair-accessible parking, entrance, and seating, the restaurant takes inclusivity seriously, making it a genuinely welcoming space for everyone.
Let’s talk food - because that’s where Sultan Indian And Bangladeshi Cuisine truly flexes. The menu strikes a balance between Indian classics and Bangladeshi regional gems. Their Lamb Sagwalla hits all the right notes: tender lamb slow-cooked with spinach and a blend of house spices that doesn’t overpower. Prefer something mild and creamy? The Korma will win you over with its coconut-almond base, smooth as silk.
For spice lovers, the Vegetable Madras brings heat without sacrificing flavor, while the Aloo Gobi and Chana Bhaji are go-to options for vegetarians - comforting, earthy, and aromatic. The Biryani with Vegetable Curry is a hearty affair, aromatic with saffron and spices, and always cooked to order. Need sides? Grab a Keema Naan - it’s stuffed with spicy minced meat and pairs perfectly with just about any curry.
Seafood fans should not sleep on the Tandoori King Prawn - it's juicy, grilled to perfection, and loaded with smoky flavors. And don’t be surprised to find a curveball or two on the menu, like Arancini, adding a unique fusion twist for the adventurous palate.
Drinks-wise, the restaurant offers a fully stocked bar. Whether you're into wine, craft beer, or something stronger like spirits, there’s something here for everyone. And yes, for those who just need a caffeine kick, they serve coffee too.
When it comes to service, Sultan does it all. You can dine in for a cozy dinner, order takeaway, go for kerbside pickup, or enjoy no-contact delivery - especially useful if you're planning a relaxed night in with some proper curry and Netflix. It’s also one of those rare places in Andover that serves late-night food, perfect after a long day or spontaneous hangouts.
One underrated highlight is their onion bhaji - crispy, spiced, and perfectly golden brown. It’s one of those starters that sets the tone right. Whether you're pairing it with a pint or having it as a warm-up to a full meal, it delivers every single time.
What really sets Sultan apart from the sea of curry houses isn’t just the variety of dishes or its late-night convenience - it’s the consistency. You can tell there’s care put into the cooking. From the precise blend of spices to the freshness of the ingredients, there’s a level of craftsmanship that doesn’t go unnoticed.
Whether you’re a local looking to upgrade your regular dinner spot or someone passing through Andover and in need of authentic Indian and Bangladeshi flavors, Sultan Indian And Bangladeshi Cuisine is worth checking out. It’s got the flavors, the vibe, and the flexibility modern diners expect - all wrapped in naan and served with a smile.

Honestly one of the best Indian Restaurants I've been too. We arrived late in the night, it wasn't very busy so made it easy for our party of 7 to get a table. The staff was very friendly and polite, well dressed and equally got involved in our shenanigans. Having a lot of fun with us, which made for a truly wonderful experience. The food, delightful. I've ate at that restaurant before, and thought the same with the good the previous couple of occasions. So they certainly have a brilliant level of consistency. Well done Sultan, and thank you to the staff for an evening I won't forget. Look forward to my next visit
Adnan and the whole Sultan team were an absolute pleasure. Thank you for a lovely meal and I’ll be back very soon with the family.
We've found a new curry house! This was our first time ordering with Sultan and the takeaway did not disappoint! Portion sizes were generous, the food was delicious and arrived at the exact time we were told! So many dishes on the menu that I cannot wait to try! We are looking forward to visiting for a meal in-house very soon! Thank you Sultan!
The food was excellent. If I had to offer constructive criticism it would be the nan could have been hotter. Our local always brings it out last fresh from the tandoori piping hot. This one came out already cut with the food and had cooled down a bit. Otherwise brilliant.
I had a fantastic time at Sultan with my wife and one year old son. The food was delicious (try the biryanis!), and the service was excellent. There was a small mix up with our order, which was rectified incredibly quickly and in a very friendly manner. I will definitely eat here again when I'm next in the area.
